Description

This study is based on the data samples collected in 1990/1991 in the framework of the experiment PS195 (CPLEAR). CPLEAR is designed to study the CP violation in the decays of neutral kaons $(K^{0}, K^{-0})$ which are produced in the $pp^-\to K^-\Pi ^+ K^0$ and $pp^-\to K^+\Pi ^- K^{-0}pp^-$ annihilations at rest. The charged vertex fit code is described in detail. We present the results of a study for the quality of the event reconstruction program. Then the selection and analysis of the neutral kaon decays to final states of two charged pions are described. The time-depended asymmetry $A_{+-}$ is evaluated and a fit to this asymmetry enabled the determination of the CP-violating parameters $\eta _{+-}$ and $\varphi _{+-}$. Finally, by making use of the high statistic samples and the ability of the CPLEAR detector for efficient separation of pions and kaons we have studied two-pion Bose Einstein correlations in $p^-p$ annihilations at rest.
