Description

This study is based on the PS195/CPLEAR experiment which is performed at the Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR) at CERN. CPLEAR has as goals the study of the CP-Violating parameters, and more specifically the measurement of ε'/ε with a resolution of 1.5*10⁻3. The experimental method is based on the Κ⁰ and ¯Κ⁰, interferometiy, as they are produced by exactly symmetric rates on p¯p annihilation at rest (p¯p → K±π¯(+)Κ⁰). The measurement of the CP-violating parameters, is performed via the asymmetry decay rates of the Κ⁰ and ¯Κ⁰ to final states of two pions, three pions and semileptonic. The ratio signal/noise is ≅10⁻³, consequently the trigger's role is crucial. We present the study of a part of the trigger, which has as goal, first the rejection of the KL component which doesn't decay within the limits of the detector and second the KS component which cannot be reconstructed due to the loss of at least one gamma. In a second level, the trigger rejects events with a decay time less than 5τS, which do not contribute to the previously referred asymmetry decay rates. Finally we present the study of the calorimeter noise and the study of the channel p¯p→Κ⁺Κ⁻π⁰ using these processors.
