Longitudinal painting studies in the Proton Synchrotron Booster (PSB)

My summer student project aimed to implement longitudinal painting in Xsuite simulations of the PSB injection process and perform simulations that included space-charge effects in order to evaluate their impact on beam performance. The project also involved participating in Machine Development (MD) studies at the PSB. I took experimental measurements with and without longitudinal painting and compared the results to the simulations to assess their agreement.
