Description
In this work, the measurement of $\Sigma^-$ and $\Sigma^+$ production in minimum-bias pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13.6 TeV is presented. Charged $\Sigma$ hyperons are reconstructed with a novel approach, directly analyzing the kink topology of their main decay branches, which all include a neutral daughter in the final state. The reconstruction efficiency of this method for each decay channel is studied. The $p_\mathrm{T}$-differential spectra and the integrated yields of both $\Sigma^-$ and $\Sigma^+$ are reported and compared with the ones obtained from Run 2 pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. An additional cross-check on $\Xi^-$ production is also presented, to better analyze possible causes of discrepancy between the results of Run 3 and Run 2.
