Description
The search for glueballs in the TOTEM experiment usually involves examining lower-order tracks, such as four-tracks and two-tracks. Pairing these tracks together properly may then allow the identification of the potential glueball particle, $f_{J}$(2220), using the invariant mass of the paired tracks. The signal-to-noise ratio however remains small for these signals. As a result, there has been some speculation regarding the possible leakage of four-tracks events into higher-order track events. This analysis proposes a procedure for assessing high-order track events by reducing them to four-track structures. The approach then enables us to apply the same reconstruction scheme as employed for four-track events and see if any leakage is occurring. The results of this analysis uncover subtle resonances around 2200 MeV within five- and six-track data. These findings provide small indications that the speculated leakage of four-track events into higher-order track events may indeed be occurring to some degree.
