Gatekeeping: Governing Access To Endpoints of Bookkeeping

This report describes the implementation of access control for the ALICE Experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider, based on industry standards. Extensive role-based access control was implemented in the frontend and backend of the Bookkeeping application, and an improved developer UI was added for testing. Fully-configurable rate limiting middleware was added to the HTTP server, to be used in all of ALICE's GUIs. The existing application was upgraded with new features based on user feedback and bug testing.
