Five members of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited CERN for three days at the beginning of May. All of them have PhD's in Physics, as well as holding their job in politics. They are involved in legislation for science, research and education funding in Iran. Apart from their interest in CERN in general, they were especially attracted to the CMS detector, since an Iranian contribution to the LHC is now starting through a collaboration with the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics in Tehran.

Les membres du Parlement de la République islamique d'Iran visitent le SM18.

Cinq membres du parlement de la République islamique d'Iran ont réalisé une visite de trois jours au CERN début mai. Fait peu commun, ils avaient tous un doctorat en physique, en plus d'être des responsables politiques. Leur activité les amène à légiférer sur le financement de la science, de la recherche et de l'éducation en Iran. En dehors de leur curiosité pour le CERN en général, les parlementaires iraniens ont particulièrement été intéressés par le détecteur CMS. Car une contribution iranienne vient d'être apportée à l'expérience par le biais d'une collaboration avec l'Institut pour les études en physique théorique et mathématique de Téhéran.
