Review of AlphaTV
Authors/Creators
Description
The ALPHA collaboration investigates the subtle differences between matter and antimatter. They have investigated the 1S-2S transition of antihydrogen using ALPHA-2, and in the future will determine the sign and value of g-bar with an accuracy of 1% using ALPHA-g. The addition of ALPHA-g has added significantly to the complexity of the experiment. Operators cannot see experiment diagnostics at a glance and spend considerable time finding information. To combat this, AlphaTV was to be developed as a LabVIEW-based program that consolidates information from different locations onto a single screen. This program has been completed and is currently used by operators in the ALPHA control room.
