Simulation and performance study of the ARC concept: a compact RICH for future collider experiments
Authors/Creators
Description
A novel concept has been proposed for a compact RICH detector suitable for application in future collider experiments such as those at an e+e− Higgs Factory. It is based on a cellular layout of similar RICH modules tiling the acceptance, to allow the detector to fit into a small radial space, and will be constructed of lightweight materials to minimise the material budget. The detector has been simulated in detail in the context of the FCC Feasibility Study, and its expected performance is presented. Excellent charged hadron identification is achieved over the full momentum range required up to ∼ 40 GeV/c.
