Summer student project report: Towards measuring the photon polarization in B0 → Ks0π+π−γ
Description
The goal of the project was to study the B0 →Ks0π+π−γ decay, which is observed at LHCb, in particular to optimize the background reduction by using PID variables in the training of a BDT on control modes, and also to generate Monte Carlo toy models for the decay. There was a distinct improvement when the PID variables were used in the BDT, and also the amplitude analysis was successful in generating the toys even though we weren't able to perform fits due to time constraints. The results shown are unofficial and have not been formally approved by the LHCb collaboration.
