Description
In physics, new particles or new phenomena might be discovered from rare event detections. Several ambitious programs have been launched world-wide in the search for rare events. New experiments have been developed from Liquid Argon Time Projection Chamber technology aimed at discovering new particles that explain the presence of dark matter in the universe (Darkside20k), or to measure the parameters of CP violation in the neutrino sector that might explain the matter-antimatter asymmetry (DUNE). An intense R&D is carried out at CERN. For my internship at CERN, in Switzerland, I joined both groups, DarkSide-20k and ProtoDUNE.
