Description

Previous ATLAS detector energy calibration studies were mainly concerned with the low-mid energy range (pT < 300 GeV), and the accuracy of the derived calibration on higher energies was not probed before. This summer student project inspects the existing calibration in said energy region, particularly looking into the effects of different electronic gains used by the ATLAS calorimeter detector, and examine potential ways for its improvement. Although presented measurement is severely limited by the statistical uncertainty, no significant deviation from the available calibration was found. This project did not include any systematic uncertainties on the measurement, which are left for future studies that may benefit from the larger statistic of Run 3.
