TOF Spectrum Analysis of HCIs synthesized using antiprotons

Description

In the AEgIS experiment, we develop a technique for trapping radioactive HCIs (Highly Charged Ions) in a Penning-Malmberg trap, using antiprotons generated from the antiproton decelerator (AD) at CERN. By introducing slow antiprotons (<12keV) to gaseous molecules, the annihilation between the antiproton and the nucleus leads to nuclear fragmentation, which produces HCIs. These HCIs can be sensitive probes for QED, QCD, weak interaction, and nuclear structure. In this report, the TOF spectrum analysis aims to reveal the composition and distribution of synthesized ions.
