Description
This project was to develop a new, more user-friendly and flexible software framework for Trigger Menu Testing of the L1 Central Trigger. The L1 Central Trigger is the core component of the first trigger system currently used in ATLAS, it reduces the event rate from 40MHz to 1kHz based on fast data from some of the muon and calorimeter detectors. The Trigger Menu is the physics configuration of the trigger, the specification of which events to accept. These are changed often and to ensure reliability each new Menu is first tested using a set of procedures, this project has developed a new software to further simplify and automate this testing.
