Description

We study the sensitivity of the measurement of the Higgs boson branching ratio to the hadronic channel of the $W^+ W^-$ final state, at the Future Circular Collider. The study involves the analysis of simulated event samples of the signal and background processes for $e^+ e^-$ collisions, assuming a center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=240$ GeV and an integrated luminosity of 10.8 $ab^{-1}$. The signal primarily consists of Higgs-strahlung events from $e^+ e^- \to ZH$, where the Higgs boson subsequently decays into a pair of $W$ bosons ($H \to W^+ W^-$), with both $W$ bosons undergoing hadronic decays ($W \to q\bar{q}$). The $Z$ boson decays considered in this study are restricted to a pair of charged leptons ($Z \to \ell^+ \ell^-$ with $\ell = e, \mu$).
