Untersuchungen zum In-plane Alignment der Atlas-Myonkammern
Description
The precision of the Atlas muon system will be increased with several alignment systems. Each muon chamber is equipped with a so called "In-Plane alignment", which is composed of Rasnik lines inside the chamber frame. The Rasniks are optical sensors to measure movements. In this thesis a model has been worked out to describe the chamber shape according to the sensor readings. This model has been verified with measurements of a chamber build at Freiburg University. In parallel the accuracy of the sensors have been obtained. The readout and analysis of the sensor datas have been done with software written for this thesis and running under Linux.
