Description

The bottom (b) quark has prominent role in the physics program of the ATLAS Collaboration. Importantly, b quarks are present in many significant decay channels of the Standard Model [1, 2]. For instance, b quarks are part of the decay chain of the Higgs boson with the largest branching ratio. Also, mesons including a b quark, the B mesons provide an important way of studying the CP violation. Furthermore, b quarks also have significance in the searches of physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM): many BSM models predict particles that couple to b quarks [3, 4].
