Evolution of trigger efficiency through LHC Run 3

Description

The trigger system of the ATLAS experiment is crucial for the success of the experiment, since it selects in real time the interesting collisions at the rate of a few Hz out of the 40 MHz collision rate. The reference to compute the performance of many triggers is given by the Minimum Bias Trigger Scintillators (MBTS), a detector built on purpose to give a very fast signal any time it is crossed by even a single charged particle, with an efficiency close to 100%. Due to radiation damage and saturation effects, large deviations from this ideal behaviours have been recently observed, and it is important to extend these studies to the whole of Run3 data taking, and to study the relation with other triggers. This project is very important for the ATLAS trigger system, and for all analyses willing to use MBTS and jet triggers.
