IT Department Strategy 2022

The present document is the CERN IT Department Strategy, which was co-produced by over 40 members of the CERN IT Department personnel together with the Head of the IT Department, and integrated with the feedback received by other Departments and Experiments. The journey to this document started with an IT Department Management workshop during which the participants defined the ambitions of future IT as well as the key questions to answer in the strategy document. In parallel, over 30 stakeholders were engaged across experimental Physics, Accelerator and Technology Sectors, Finance and HR, and external users of IT services, including Tier1 and Tier2, to diagnose the current status of the IT Department, and define the main pain points to be addressed. As this is a living document, it will be reviewed annually, and updated in line with the learnings collected along the journey.
