Performance analysis of electron tracking with the CMS experiment at the LHC

This report provides a brief description of the tracking algorithm developed by the CMS collaboration for the reconstruction of charged particles in the CMS tracker. In particular it will concentrate on the electron tracking algorithm, using samples of simulated events of particle gun and proton-proton collisions, analyzing the performance and suggesting possible improvements.
