Cross section measurements of high-energy electron and muon neutrino interactions with FASER's emulsion detector at the LHC
Authors/Creators
Description
This note presents updated results from the search for high-energy electron and muon neutrino charged-current interactions in the FASER$\nu$ emulsion/tungsten sub-detector of FASER. A subset of the FASER$\nu$ volume is used, corresponding to a target mass of 681.1 kg, collecting 9.5 fb$^{-1}$ of LHC proton-proton collision data in 2022 at a centre-of-mass energy of 13.6 TeV. The muon neutrino energy is reconstructed by employing a Regression BDT, and the energy dependent cross section is measured in two bins. The electron neutrino cross section is measured in a single bin without energy reconstruction applied.
