Description

In this study, I simulated fixed target muon-proton DIS events at SHiP energies (10−300 GeV) using PYTHIA 6.4 and PYTHIA 8.3. For each event generator, I used two different configurations and compared event characteristics such as transverse momentum p⊥, pseudorapidity η, outgoing energy, particle IDs, multiplicity per event, and momentum transfer Q2. In general, both PYTHIA event generators agree reasonably well. In particular, the PYTHIA 8 setting mHatMin=0.5increases the agreement with the PYTHIA 6 event generator.
