A search for $\tau \rightarrow \mu \gamma$ at the LHCb experiment

A search for the rare decay $\tau \rightarrow \mu \gamma$ at the LHCb experiment is started, by looking for tracks from converted photons in the VELO upgrade. By putting limits on several parameters tracks from converted photons can be reconstructed with an efficiency of $78\%$. The fake rate is $23\%$, when information from only the VELO is used.
