Description
The antiproton Unstable Matter Annihilation (PUMA) experiment aims to transport antiprotons from CERN's Antimatter Factory to the ISOLDE facility to research exotic nuclear phenomena. The general purpose is to determine the relative densities of protons and neutrons at the surface of these nuclei. In this report, the commissioning of the trigger barrel is described. It is responsible for reconstructing the trajectories of the reaction products of the annihilation, mostly pions, in three dimensions. It was built, the electronics setup completed, the trigger logic configured and first data acquisition with cosmic radiation performed.
