Description
The purpose of this document is to define the rationale, mandate and structure of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for the 2026-2030 management mandate. The document has been developed following the creation of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) role by the Director-General, to provide a clear and consistent reference for its scope and positioning within the Organisation.
This document, developed by the Office of the Chief Information Officer, integrates feedback from the Directorate and Department Heads across each of CERN’s sectors through a series of consultations. Following a final review by the Department Heads, the document will be converted into PDF format and uploaded to the CERN Document Server (CDS), where it will be stored alongside all other published documents from the Office of the Chief Information Officer for internal use only.
