Analyse von Myonen aus dem Zerfall von J/Psi-Mesonen mit dem CMS-Detektor

In this thesis the decay of the J/ψ meson into two mouns is investigated with the CMS Detector. The main objective is the measurement of the invariant mass of the J/ψ using three different methods to describe the background. Used are a fit of an analytical function, a simulation with computer generated data and pairs of muons with the same charge. Subsequently it is investigated, whether the measured mass of the J/ψ depends of the pseudorapidity of the detected muons. Lastly the efficiency of the applied muon reconstruction in dependance of different physical and geometrical parameters is measured.
