Description
The Standard Model (SM) is a well-established theory of elementary particle physics that predicts the compounds of matter, as well as their interactions. This model provides a description of the electromagnetic interaction, mediated by the photons; of the weak interaction mediated by the W and Z bosons, and the strong interaction, by the gluons. The Higgs boson gives origin to the other particles masses through electroweak symmetry breaking, for the W and Z bosons, and through the Yukawa interaction in the case of the fermions.
